Duluth, Minn.— Republican Party of Minnesota delegates delivered a resounding endorsement victory to Nate George for Minnesota State Auditor on Friday, awarding him 76.8% of the vote and securing the endorsement on the first ballot.
George, the Mayor of Braham, a decorated combat veteran and government watchdog, earned overwhelming support from delegates who rallied behind his message of accountability, transparency, and fiscal responsibility in state government.
“This endorsement is a clear message from Republicans across Minnesota that taxpayers deserve a real watchdog in the State Auditor’s Office,” George said. “Minnesotans are tired of waste, fraud, and a government that too often protects systems instead of protecting citizens. Together, we’re going to change that.”
In his address to convention delegates, George emphasized the critical importance of the State Auditor’s role as the guardian of taxpayer dollars and highlighted his unique qualifications for the office. George noted that Minnesota has not elected a State Auditor with significant auditing and oversight experience in nearly fifty years.
“I didn’t come from a political background,” George told delegates. “I spent 20 years serving this country as an enlisted Airman. When there’s a mission, you accomplish it. When there’s a problem, you solve it. When there’s waste, risk, or failure, you address it immediately. That’s exactly the mindset Minnesota needs in the Auditor’s Office.”
