BRAHAM, Minn. — Nate George, the endorsed Republican candidate for Minnesota State Auditor, today called for greater accountability and stronger oversight of taxpayer-funded projects following KSTP reports raising concerns about conditions at a Minneapolis housing development that received millions of dollars in public funding.
George emphasized that taxpayers deserve transparency whenever significant public investments fail to produce the outcomes they were intended to achieve.
“Reports coming out of Minneapolis should concern every taxpayer in Minnesota,” George said. “When millions of public dollars are invested in a housing project, Minnesotans have every right to expect that the work was completed, the money was properly spent, and residents received the safe housing they were promised.”
